Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I reside in Houston TX. I am 60 yrs old and he is 66. My question is: Is it to my advantage to file for a divorce before he does? or would it be better for me to let him file for a divorce and get legal representation for myself once I'm presented with the divorce suit? I don't have money and out of a job at the present time.

It doesn't make any difference.

There's no particular advantage to being the Petitioner rather than the Respondent, except that the Petitioner pays the filing fee (about $350).
