Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

please respond

I lost custody of my son at age 8 but here is question/concern now that he is 17 going on 18 he wants to come live with me. I have made arrangements to pick him up in a week but his grandparents tell him if I go to take him the grandparents will have the police ready to arrest me. Can they do this is my question/concern

If you have no possessory rights to your son, then yes, you can be stopped from picking him up. If you do have visitation rights, then you can pick him up at the times designated.

If you do not, then you either need to file for a modification, or you need to wait until he is 18 years old.
