Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

In a Respondants answer to divorce. By entering a general denial, am I giving up any rights or agreeing to any property awards or custody for my children? Or is it simply an acknowledgement that im aware of the petition for divorce.

A general denial doesn't "give up" anything, except the possibility of a jurisdictional challenge.
