return of daughter

daughter is spending summer with her dad. we have joint custody and daughter lives with me in texas. we agreed on a time and date to bring her back and now he says he has no money to bring her to me. he lives in austin and i in el paso. he asked me for money so he could bring her, well actually my daughters money because he says that since he has her that money should go to him so he can bring her back home. what can i do to make him bring her? my daughter is 8.

Your best option is to go get your daughter, and bill him for the expense. If the court has ordered that he return her to you, then the expense of the return belongs to him. By the way, when you say your daughter's money, are you referring to child support? If so, then he is wrong, that money is not her money, and it is for her care and well-being, even if she is in austin for the summer. It is not spent to satisfy his obligations.
