Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Revoking Temporary Guardianship. 1 year ago temporary guardianship of my daughter was granted to my mother, step father, and my grandparents to care for my daughter while I finished college. Now that I am back from college and ready to move to a new state I want to remove the temporary guardianship so I may move my child with me. I would like to know what the process is for this, and in case my family should refuse to sign any paperwork or want to take me to court to keep her what would I need to do? Also, is this something you need a lawyer for, and are there any options for someone who may not be able to afford large lawyer fees?

I don't think you've included enough information to fully answer your question.

Is the legal paperwork still under "temporary" status? Eventually in Texas the court will make the order permanent and close the case.

Also, you state "guardianship". Are you sure it's "guardianship" and not "custody"? That is a BIG difference.

If the order is permanent and the case closed, then you need to re-open the case and prove to the court that the child should move in with you.

You definately need a certified copy of the court's paperwork to take to any attorney.

If you are in Harris County, you can call me for a $1 minute consultation.
