Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Rights regarding child support

I have monthly child support payments automatically deducted from my paycheck for a son I can not find nor have any paternity test been done to prove that I am the father. I was not married to the woman nor do I know if my name appeared on the birth certificate. What are my rights?

Re: Rights regarding child support

I suggest that you obtain the record of any hearing from the court that issued the withholding order. That should have the info about the child's whereabouts. If not, the child support ofice will.

Then I suggest that you contact an attorney in your area to review the record and advise you of your rights and possible legal actions.
