Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

How many rights does she have

It looks like we may end up in a divorce. We do not have kids, she has not worked during our 13 years of marriage because she feels she is not good enough or something along those lines.

She is an artist, however I have pumped numerous dollars into her career and she doesn't seem to want to follow through and create an income. I have asked her to get a job and she refuses. For me this is a deal breaker and I do not intend to support her for the rest of her life.

I have a consulting business that is in my name but was started while we were married.

Can she claim any ownsership to the company even though she is not one of the officers?

Secondly, what steps should I start with to plan this divorce so I'm not caught by surprise. What papers do I need copies off etc.

Re: How many rights does she have

If these issues are a genuine concern to you, I suggest you have a consultation session with a lawyer. You have a lot of questions and this would be the most productive for you. However, your business is likely community property.
