What rights does a grandparent have in the state of Texas in the event that the parent of the child wishes no contact between that child and the grandparent?

You can read the US Supreme Court case commonly known as Troxle - I might have spelt it wrong that basically "gutted" grandparent rights many years ago.

Here it is in a nutshell. If you want to see your grandkids -- be nice to the parents. Parents rule! Grandparents have no rights. If your child is dead or in prison, then you have a limited amount of rights to try to get in front of a judge and beg for some access to see your grandkids a few times a year BUT the other parent can claim that you are "bad" and can easily win the argument that you should not have any access to the grandkids.

Therefore, if you want to see your grandkids be nice to the parent(s). They control your access with your grandkids. Sorry!
