Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Rights on the house

I have been married for 1 year. My

spouse started house construction as

a general contractor just before

getting married, but he got a job out

of state about 8 months ago and I

stay here, finishing the house that it

is almost completed. I have paid for

several items in the house as drywall

and appliances and work in other

parts of the house because we run

out of money and I am doing

finishing work as painting, electrical,

cleaning among others.

We have not closed on the house

and he does not want to tell he is

married on the closing date because

he saids that will increase interests

payments.

What are my rights on this house if

it is under his name?

Re: Rights on the house

property acquired during the marriage is presumed to be community property regardless of what he puts on the deed. The title company might not let him get by with that little scheme either.
