Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
rights terminated by cps
My child was five months old when cps took him away. I was using drugs and my childs father abused me. I worked to get my child back and the father did nothing. His rights were terminated by cps. I received a check in the mail from the fathers grandparents. If I were to accept the check would I be obligated to allow them to see my child?

Re: rights terminated by cps
Generally, courts will order reasonable possession of or access to a grandchild by a grandparent based on a few items that the maternal or paternal grandparents show. This would be regardless of whether or not you accept funds from the grandparents for the beneift of the child.
