Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
My rights & Tx CPS
Breifly, an allegation was made on myself(single mother)re: abuse, drugs, & no medical care for child. Within 24hrs of 1st visit at my moms home I agree since CPS did not like the enviorment she was in, I agreed w the case worker and was given permission for us to stay w/my father until things were worked out. 2 hrs past & CPS was at my fathers house to remove my daughter & placed her w my leisbian step sister who i have not seen in 3 years. I was away from my baby for 7 days, i have done everything they have ask of me. The day after my daughter was removed from my care, i took a hair folicale test & passed. Which is the second one since the frist allegation was made against me 5 months ago for drug use, they came into my home i agreed to take a hair & urine test - passed both. I have NOT received one corrospondence from anyone at CPS regarding results to my tests (results were given orally) not one letter re: anything! 7 days after my daughter was put with my step sister; I attended a meeting at the cps ofc my 2 sisters gave their opinion of me as a person and mother. That day i was given my test results & my daughter back. Today they ask me to attend a meeting w my child one more time to see how things are going. pls helpme

Re: My rights & Tx CPS
This is way too convoluted to try to figure out in an email. You really need to sit down with a good family law attorney and go over all the details with him or her. My guess is that money is an issue. Many family law attorneys will work out payment arrangements. Call around until you can find one that will and that handles CPS cases.
