I need to know my Rights as a Wife
What are my rights as a wife concerning business contracts between my husband and a tenant.
He is renting to family. We are not making any money. In fact they are just paying just enough to pay the note, taxes, and insurance.
My name is also on the lease of our rental property and I believe his family (sister) will milk this situation and drain us dry in the end.
I think my husband has been manipulated by her and may refuse to raise the rent or give them notice just to spite me.
This is ruining our marriage and I am fed up.
What legal action can I take to get her out of there by the time her lease is up in September, 2008?
Do I have any rights, here?
PS. I am not on the contract, though the house is in mine and husbands name.
What can I do to make sure this doesn't happen again?

You have many options.

Since I only know a few facts, here are two options.

You can file for divorce and ask that the house be sold and the proceeds of the sale divided.

Perhaps you need to try marital counseling before filing for divorce.

Obviously, you two are having serious communication issues.

I don't advocating renting or loaning money to relatives!

If you give them $$, give it as a GIFT and never expect to be thanked or paid back -- then you won't be disappointed!
