Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Running away at age 17

I turn 17 in a few weeks. 6 months ago my father was awarded sole managing custody and at that time i moved to North Richland Hills, TX from austin tx where i used to reside with my aunt. i am planning on running away after i turn 17 to go live with my mother in colorado. my stepbrother ran away from my father's house a year and a half ago at age 17. i want to know are there any stimulations, whether it be crossing state lines, being 17, my father ''winning'' custody in court, my mother no longer being managin conservator, or any i am not thinking of that would legally force me to return to tarrant county. and at the risk of being rudundant and cliche i would like to add that i did have some attendance problems with school in the past as well as a number of traffic citation, i have most certainly ''learned my lesson'' and desperatly would like a second chance at being a teenager while living with my mother. i am looking for someone who knows the law to tell whether or not this is possible

Re: Running away at age 17

Running away is not very smart. Your Mom can come to court here in Tarrant County and file a motion to modify so that she has custody. That is a much smarter way to handle things.
