Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

im s17 and i live in tioga texas and i want to move out of my moms house. my dad is out of the picture but when my mom drinks or gets angry she beats me. and im tired of being treated like a rag doll and want to move out. she insults me all the time too.

You cannot legally move out until you are 18, unless you have her permission.

You should call the police the next time she beats you. Don't put up with the violence. They will probably call CPS and CPS may initiate removal proceedings. If they do, then your grandparents or other close blood relatives can intervene to have you come live with them.

If the police do not call CPS, then the same family members can still file for conservatorshp under Texas Family Code 102.004 to take you from your mom.

I'm sorry you are having to live such a horrible life with her.
