Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

OK, Heres the scenario. I am 19, and the dude is 17...Is it legal for us to date in the state of Texas. I have done ample research and I am just curious before I evne tlk to him. I mean, we have not had any inappropriate conversation, nor anything like that. But we know that we both are good friends, and IF the opportunity arise, I just need to know if its even legal

Also, does the fact of homosexuality impede a great difference to this?

As far as age, it is legal.

As far as gender, it is not illegal to date someone of the same sex, but you cannot legally marry in Texas.

It is my opinion that you should not "date" anyone under 18 if there might be a problem.

I learned in law school that anyone can sue you for any reason at any time. Yes, you would win but why risk incurring legal fees.

I don't care if it's homosexual or not. If someone is an adult, they can do what they want unless there are found by a court to be legally incompetent and have a guardian.
