Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I'm seeking to file a petition for divorce. Spouse left years ago, but because of finances and child care responsibilities, I did not make it a priority. I'm now ready to move forward, I'm also unemployed and still cannot afford the financial responsibility of the filing. I'm not able to locate spouse. Question...How do I go about divorce proceedings without spouse's signature or am I just stuck in a horrible situation?

You don't need his signature to get a divorce.
If you don't know where he is, you serve him by publication.
You should really talk to a lawyer; don't try to do this yourself. Make some calls, get some fee quotes.
