Separate Property

My husband of 17 years and I have been livng separately for 2 1/5 years now. I would like to purchase a home this year but I am afraid the community property statues here in Texas might force me to sell it if he decides to file for divorce at a later date. Is this the case?

Do not buy a house until you get a divorce. You could be buying a huge headache. Is there a particular reason for being separated so long? After such a long separation, most of the issues involved should be resolved fairly reasonably. The cost of a divorce should also be very reasonable.
