Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I have been separated from husband since 1985 we did own a house together but lost when I became sick and lost my job in June 2009 I will be retiring . I need to know if I need to be divorced to collect my full retirement? He lives with another person and has 4 children he lives in Mex. How can I get a divorce where we can do it ourself and not have to have a lawyer since we do not have anything together we did have 2 children but they are grown and married, Can I get alimony from him?
