Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I have been separated from my husband for 6 years. We share a son together, although he has not seen nor has he spoke to our son during the 6 years of separation. Our son is 7 yrs old. I recently had a child with my b/f and am looking to get a divorce. BUT no one knows where he is. The state can't find him because there has been no activity with his ssn over the last 5 years. His last known address is my parents' house. I'm stumped. Is there a way that I can still get my divorce?

The good news is is YES you can still get divorced.
You will need an attorney to assist you. There is no way that you can attempt to do it yourself. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH A DO IT YOURSELF KIT!
Any experienced family law attorney can assist you. It won't be inexpensive since he must be notified in a specific way specified by the TX Family Code plus you have had a child by another man & that complicated things.
Use this website to locate an attorney in your county to help you. Most will set up a payment plan and work with you.
Otherwise you will need to wait until both of your children are over the age of 18 to get divorced, then it will be cheaper if no children are under the age of 18!
Good luck!
