Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Separation with children
I have been married for 5 years to a very controlling man. I have tried leaving several times but he will not let me. This last time that I told him I wanted to leave he told me that I could not take our kids with me. I have intentions on moving to my sister and brother-in-laws house in Oklahoma. I currently reside in Texas. I have two questions. #1 Can I get introuble if I take the kids out of state and #2 can he tell me that I can not take my kids with me. Also, we have a vehicle and the title is in my name and he says that I can't take that either. So basically he doesn't want me to have anything. I just don't think that its fair that I have to give up everything just because I want to leave my husband.
Please Help!

No it's not fair. But you're in a position in which you've put yourself and you need to get some help from perhaps a women's advocacy group for protection and to assert yourself and your legal rights. It may be difficult to take the kids away from his county of residence. You should get a lawyer. Nothing is going to happen in this forum. Good Luck.
