Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

separation & insurance

My wife and I have been legally saeparated for over a year. We have had an initial hearing, but the divorce is not final. I have been paying her insurance during this time. Can I drop her from my insurance coverage? She has numerous medical problems. If I drop her and she continues to run up bills, am I legally liable for her medical expenses?

Re: separation & insurance

Don't drop her until you have an Order. Right now, you're still married and she is eligible for benefits under your policy. If you make the unilateral decision to drop her, you could be individually responsible for her medical bills.
