I have been separated for six months, What are my rights and am I legally separated and what does it mean to be legally separated?

There is no such thing as legal separation in Texas.

You are not "legally separated" because such a term does not exist in TX law. Your just not living together as husband and wife. If you want some legal status to your separation, you must obtain Temporary Orders which will define the separation status of you and your X. Might as well go ahead and file for divorce at the same time. If you get back together, you can always dismiss the divorce lawsuit. No charge to dismiss usually.
