Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
What do I do? I got served.
I recently got served at work. It is regarding my ex husband wanting to move out of the state and take our 3 boys. He is the main conservator. I have joint/visitation. He wants to sue me and fix the custody agreement since it states he can not take them out of the county till they are 18.The paper says that I have to reply to the court within 20 days. I can not afford a lawyer. So, since I must put it in writing that I will be there in court, WHAT do I write?

Re: What do I do? I got served.
You need to file a document called an "Answer" with the court as soon as possible. Make several copies and get the copies "file stamped" when you file the original document with the court clerk.
Send the opposing counsel a copy of this document.
You can find a sample form at any law library.
You can probably find samples on-line - I don't know where you would find it.
Be sure it is a TEXAS form.
You can also go to any bookstore and find books on TX divorces.
You could also try any library for general books on the law.
Good luck!
