Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Service Response

How do you respond to being served divorce papers and wife is best friends with a free attorney and you are almost broke? Do you go to the county and file what in order to not get your due in the seperation of property. Spouse knows cannot pay a retainer and seems to think she will pay me nothing, when according to research she owes economic interest in community home and retirement account appreciation? Will the judge protect me or will the proceedings leave me without my legal due?

Please help.

Re: Service Response

The judge is not there to assist litigants. He is there to preside over the court and make sure the rules are followed. If you want to make these claims, then you better get a lawyer. Otherwise, your spouse will overwhelm you with her "free" (nothing is free) lawyer; and the outcome is predictable from here.
