Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I was given my share of home business payable in installments of 900 a month for 10 years. Everyone tells me I have to hire a attorney each time to hold him in contempt on nonpayment. I live in NM now and cant just run to the courthouse, Is there a way I can file the forms myself without an attorney. Thanks Kathy Miller

I am assuming that this is the result of divorce. Your first sentence indicates that you would be making the payments. Since this does not make sense with you claim of nonpayment, I am also assuming that you meant that you gave up your share of the business in exhange for the installment payment arrangement.

One way to document the nonpayments is to call in a police report each time payments are not on time. At some point you are going to want to go to court to file a motion to enforce the decree. You will need to hire an attorney in the same county where the decree was entered.
