Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
We have shared custody over kids but my ex husband has been keeping them away for over half a year. What can I do?

You need to sue him for violating the court's order that gives you rights to visit.
First you need to go to the exact place at the exact time specified in your order to get your children. Take a certified copy of your court order with you. If he denies you visitation, call the police and have it documented. The police are very likely to be rude to you, but having them document the incident will be extremely helpful in court. Do this at least seven times.
After you have followed the exact instructions in the court order and had it documented that he is violating the court's order 7 times, file an enforcement suit asking the court to put him in jail. Enforcement suits are very technical and one small slip on your side will mean that your ex gets away with his bad behavior. Hire a lawyer for the enforcement.
You should probably have a lawyer review your court order before you start this process just so you are sure you are doing everything right. A consultation fee, which you may be able to do over the phone, will be about $300. It is worth it to make sure you are on track to go get this horrible person and restore your relationship with your children.
Good luck!!
