Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

shortly after my friends parents divoreced when he was 14 his dad stopped all contat with him and with that stopped paying child support. now that my friend is 18 his father chooses to pay child support. i was wondering if my friend has any right to the child support that his mom is obtaining?

The child support was meant for your friend�s benefit, but his mom had to pay the costs that would have been covered by the child support, so the past due child support is owed to the mom and not your friend.
