Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

siblings in child custody

I have 2 children when the 1st child turns 12 the 2nd will be 11, will the judge consider allowing both to come live with me if they are wanting to. The ex will more than likely contest this.

Re: siblings in child custody

That will depend upon the judge in the Court that has jurisdiction of your case. The real question is will the Court enter a temporary order changing custody of both children when one is 12 and the other 11. There is statutory authority for the judge to enter such a temporary order for a child over 12 if it is also in the best interest of the child. I have handled a number of cases such as yours. If you are located in the Houston area, I could assist you with this matter. Contact me if you want to discuss these issues more.
