Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Signing over my rights

I have a child that the mother is going to file to have my rights revoked. I have never known the child and she doesn't want me to. If I sign over my rights will I still have to pay child support. IF SO..what do I need to do to walk away from all of it?

Re: Signing over my rights

Generally speaking, most courts will NOT terminated your rights unless there is a new guy willing to be "daddy".

FYI: Many women threaten to do this. However, the reality of terminating your parental rights is rare.

If you want a relationship with the kid, then hire a family law attorney and set up some visitation to get to know the kid then ask for a Standard Possession Order.

Good luck!
