Signing over my rights

My wife and I are getting a divorce. If I sign over my rights to our daughter, will I still be financially responsible to pay child support?

Re: Signing over my rights

You do not the authority to unilaterally terminate your parental rights (and/or obligations). A judge makes the determination, and is loathe to leave a child with one less parent responsible for their financial needs (not to mention physical, emotional and social needs). See a lawyer.

Yes and health insurance, too. No one is going to let you "sign over your rights" and walk away from your responsibility to your child. You're divorcing your wife, not your child. Get an attorney.
