Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I am a single mother. The Father is attempting to have my child's last name changed to His. We were never married or lived together. He signed the birth certificate that had the child's name using my maiden name. Now He has gone to court, and the Judge ordered the name to be changed. This Judge had decided the case before we went to court. My income is not enough to afford the appeal costs. What can I do?

If you are alleging that there is some fraud or deception in the ruling, your option at this point is to appeal. Time is running on the order, in order to appeal it, and if you want any chance at overturning an order, appeal is your option. You will either need to find the money for an attorney to handle it, or handle it pro-se.
