Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am trying to help my sister out. she hasnt seen her daughter in almost a year. her boyfriend kicked her out all of sudden and had a new girl moved in within a month. she went down hill from there. she was drinking alot, got a dwi and ended up in jail. is there still a chance that she could get joint custody? i know there would be stipulations to go by and stuff. its just tearing her up.

Has there ever been a court order that gave any access to the boyfriend? Custody? Joint custody? Even visitation?

If not, she should file an application for writ of habeas corpus.

Help her by hiring a lawyer, and by getting her therapy. She will need to be strong and capable to do what is best for her child. The legal process will depend upon what, if any, court orders already exist.
