Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
two sisters married to same man
My heroine, Mia, in my novel in progress (my 52nd) crashed into the Gulf of Mexico and has been presumed dead for a year and a half. When she is rescued from a Mexican prison and returns to Texas, she discovers that her husband married her twin sister, Lizzy, in my last novel. Which marriage is legal? If husband is married to first wife, Mia, I want this marriage ended asap and him remarried to his second wife. How do I legally accomplish this as fast as possible? What are the legalities I need to be aware of? Many thanks for your help. --name removed--Cleaves

You can check out the Texas Family Code Section 6.202 (on the internet) regarding Marriage During Existence of Prior Marriage.
Good luck!
