Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I have a situation where I pay child support on my oldest child..the court order is through denton county, Texas. He moved in with me on Aug.31, 2010. He turned 18 on Oct.21,2010. I am still having child support with held from my checks. At his Dads he ended up dropping out of school last year. He did get his GED before coming to Indiana. When we got his information we started the process for him to go to college. He does not have a permit or license and has never worked.I need help in going about changing custody and stopping the child support I am still paying.I do not have much money as I have 2 other little children that I do not receive child support for. Thank you for any help in this matter. I did contact legal aid in Texas but it is on walkins only. I live in Indiana.
.Thank you..

You need to get a motion for modification filed in Denton County NOW, and in connection with that, you can ask the Court for an emergency order to stop the wage withholding (you and I know that once Dad has your money, you'll never get it back).
You should plan to give a Texas lawyer about $2500 up front.
