Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Slander/Defamation/harassment from sibling.
After writing a book, which has now been published, my sister has now taken it upon herself to try and make fraudulent and slanderous accusations by email, phone calls to my publisher about the legality of how my book got published. My book of 50 poems deal with the aftermath of my suicide attempt in November 2003. But in my final manuscript to my publisher there were maybe 4-5 poems that had one or two lines in each about the abuse that I received from my parents and how that had a detrimental effect on how I viewed life in general. I was unable to obtain a signed permission letter from my parents, after making two attempts in the summer of 2008, to have my poems written ''as is'' and I sent them a copy of my complete manuscript so as not to be trying to hide anything from them, so I worked with my publisher to make the necessary changes in those 4-5 poems, and they were accepted for print without needing the signed permission from my family.
It was published 9/1/08 and my parents knew this and did nothing to interrupt my book being published, but my sister has taken it upon herself to do my parents dirty work, 5 months after my book was published, to not only harass me, but now making false accusations to my publisher.

There is no question here, but your publisher had plenty of advance notice of the sensitivity of the subject, and chose to proceed.
If your sister is illegally interfering with your business interests, sue her.
