Social Security

Hi, I am the same person who asked about the retirement. My ex and I were married for 32 years and he has remarried. I have not remarried. I hope he lives a long time; but if I survive him, am I eligible for his Social Security? He is trying to make sure I get nothing. Can he control Social Security?

He cannot control the federal government and its policies! This is a meaningless threat.

You need to call Social Security and discuss it with them. Social Security will determine if you will receive anything.

I'd call their 1-800 and talk to someone in their office or email them. I don't know if this information is available on their website.
