my son is changing his name to his step fathers name

My son is 18 and he had filed to have his name changed to his step fathers name, the problem is i am still paying child support to him. And in the Petition he filed all the information on it is false. He states he has lived in Wichita County for 3 yrs but , has not he receives his child support at a Wichita County address which is his grandmothers house. I would like to know what form i need to file a respose letting the court know i do not agree and that he has filed a false document. You should hire a lawyer, but if you choose not to, then go to the county courthouse law library. Ask the librarian to direct you to the family law form books. Find "Original Answer" or "General Denial". Determine if the answer requires specific allegations, and determine if it should be verified. Complete the document, file it with the clerk, keep a copy and send a copy to all of the parties by certified mail. Ask the court to schedule a hearing. Present your case at the hearing.

If your son is 18 then he is now an adult and I believe he can legally change his name without your permission.

You can, of course, object but I don't know if the court will take your objection into account.
