Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Son won't move out.

My son is a 24 year old High School graduate.

Since graduation he has had one job that lased about six months. Hes had two other jobs that lasted about one month each; one was at a movie theater where he got caught stealing cash.

He hasnt worked a lick in over a year. The only money he ever has is what hes able to steal from us and whatever his grandparents might give him for Christmas or his birthday. He seldom has any money and when he does he spends it on drugs and alcohol. He sleeps all day, plays video games all night, only leaves the house to get high with his friends.

If it were not for the drugs and alcohol his lifestyle could best be described as that of a 15 year old on an endless summer vacation.

I think it would do him a world of good to join the Army, and there have been times when Ive almost had him talked into it but he cant pass the drug test.

Other than calling the Police on him when he becomes drunk and violent is there any legal way that I can get him out of my house?

Re: Son won't move out.

1. The military no longer takes people with criminal records and/or drug and alcohol problems.

2. You must evict him. Go to your local small claims court in your area and find out what you need to do. It will take awhile but you can do it.

3. Then install an alarm system and don't give him the code.

4. Install deadblock locks and don't give him the key.

If he breaks in, have the guts to have him arrested and serve time in jail for his crime. And, yes, it is a crime to break into a home or business that you have no business being in.

5. I actually heard of some parents that were so frustrated that they sold their house and moved out of town to avoid their male child. No relative would tell the son where they were living for a year. They literally disappeared for a year until he realize that he needed to grow up. This guy was over 30 and a medical doctor that did not want to grow up. Made tons of money but never gave his parents any, expected Mom to do his laundry and clean his room for free!

6. If you want him out, you have to be tough and don't back down.

From personal experience, I can warn you that he will probably get violent if you try to get rid of him. Also, it won't stop.

I know of a 50 yr. old man that won't work, has thrown items at his 80 yr. old father when daddy would not give him any money, and I have seen bruises on the daddy & daddy claims that he "fell". The 50 yr. old has a long arrest record and the daddy believes him that it is always mistaken identity. His daddy has paid for criminal lawyers to keep him out of prison and numerous private rehabs to "fix" this 50 yr. old. Daddy has spent easily over $50,000 on legal fees and private rehab centers. This guy truly does not believe that he has to work. The world owes him a free ride!!! Lastly, he does not have to follow laws or rules like the rest of us.

SUMMARY: YOU MUST ACT NOW OR YOU WILL BE SUPPORTING HIM THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!!

You desperately need counseling to help you with the problems you are going to face if you evict him.
