Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

my ex and i have a son together and we have set-up visitation and child support orders after we got a dna test. he has been taking my son since january-about 5 times and now wants to give up rights to him. how do we go about doing this and what forms do we need?

Unless you have a husband who is ready to step in and adopt the child, you probably cannot terminate the father's rights, even voluntarily.

If you have a husband who is ready to do a step-parent adoption, you would file a joint petition for voluntary relinquishment of parental rights (where your ex gives up his rights) and petition for adoption (where the new dad steps in and adopts).
