Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My son is 14 and wanted to live with his dad. We went to court and the judge ruled to modify custody papers. I asked to review papers and get back to him the next day. My question is, don't I have a right to review the new papers without my ex hovering over me? He called me and said he could bring papers by, but was told by his lawyer not to leave them with me in case "something gets altered". He said he wants to be right there as I read them. I don't feel comfortable with this at all. His lawyer would review them anyway before turning them into the court!

The only signature REQUIRED on the modification paperwork is the judge's!

It sounds like you don't have an attorney. You really need one to represent you. You can review the paperwork but you don't have anyone to advocate for you position in court if you don't like what the attorney put in the paperwork.
