Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
My sons future
Do I have a right as a father to get help for my son.
I and his mother went to court over a year ago.We were given joint conservitorship with her being the primary residents. So I had to pay her 95 a week thats including 50 a month for back child support. She had him only a month after court and I got him back. He's been living with me ever since. She does give me the money back, but she doesn't give me any extra from her pocket. She file income Taxes with his social, So she gets that! plus the little I get for filing my taxes as single. She gets that too. In the mean time I Have our son most of the time(which I Love).I am my sons soccer coach. I eat breakfast at school with him everyday, his never been absent or tardy.I read to with him every night he's making exsilent progress in school. I am a very loving and norturing father to him. All he gets from her, is her leftover time which is not a whole lot. My life revolves around my son. Her life revolves around her job and her personnel life. Can somebody please help me or give me some advice on what to do.

Re: My sons future
It appears that so far you have done everything right. Retain a lawyer on a payment plan, if necessary, to file a modification of the decree. Tell the lawyer that you want him/her to ask for a nominal amount of child support, and try to negotiate with the ex for her to agree to it. You can seek an increase later.
