Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My sons grandma got custody of him when he was 3yrs old. After she gained custody, she moved away and had her phone number changed. This whole time I thought they lived in Dallas, Tx. It has been 12yrs and my son contacted me. He wants to come back and live with me. He will be 16yrs old in a couple of months. Well, I found out that his grandmother and grandfather adopted him 5yrs ago and they were living in Houston, tx this whole time. His biological father signed his rights away and they granted the adoption because I didnt show up. Well, I didnt know where he was and nothing about the adoption. I have been looking for him all this time, and he finally contacted me. Do I have a chance to get him back?
