Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Me and my ex have been split up for over a yr and we have been doing 2 week visits with out any court rules. can i file for split custody since we both have him equility and due to her not driving i have to travel 2 hrs to get him and 2 hrs back home. she chooses not to work and drive what is the best thing to do on this case

If you want to keep this setup, ask the court to make it "official." Is the setup actually working? Is it making the child suffer in any way?

File for divorce and ask that the informal arrangement be made official (via court order). Your argument to the court would be: We've been doing this for a year, and it's been working.
