Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

spousal support

In Texas is there a law requiring a husband who files for divorced to support his wife until the divorce is final. The wife has not worked due to minor children involved and although she has a degree, it took a year to get a job. He provided no support to her during that time. In Louisiana there is such a law (La, R. S, 14:74)
