Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Ex spouse reposession of vehicle

I was given a power of attorney at the time of my divorce to give my ex-wife the ability to sell the car she chose to keep. She let the car be reposessed and now creditors are trying to hold me responsible for payment and it is now on my credit report. Am I still responsible for the car and how can I get this removed from my credit report and remove all responsibility from this car?

Re: Ex spouse reposession of vehicle

The car finance people were not parties to your divorce and they are not bound by the decree. You might be able to seek contempt and reimbursement from you X for your payment and satisfaction of the vehicle.
