Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Spouse's Mistress

Can I sue my husbands mistress? Due to their affair and her telling everyone that she was seeing him, my husband lost his job, we lost our home, and our marraige is a wreck.

Re: Spouse's Mistress

The old saying is "You can sue the Pope for rape, if you can prove it." You say she was a mistress; to me this implies that her statements might have been truthful. No libel or slander exists for truthful statements. Legal actions in TX for interference with the marriage contract were abolished 20-25 years ago. Sorry for your misfortune.
