Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

How can I get my SSD check back? I requested a modification hearing child support. Feb this yr. Nothing happened. Again requested. Hearing granted July 28. Found I did not owe future support per AG. Only back pay. Fell behind due to drunk driver, head on. Had divorce papers in court at same time. Later found out judge refused to sign modification. Everything went back as if I never asked for modification. 50% of SSD check being garnished. Wife still getting monies not owed. Hold on divorce due to wife not wanting to sign papers. Catch 22. AG claims they can do nothing but continue to send checks out. Court can do nothing now that time has elapsed. How do I get my SSD back.?

Go the legal aide in your area or hire an attorney. TX A G only collects child support and they won't help you lower your payments. It appears that you are still married. It's impossible to address all of your issues without looking at your paperwork and determining where you stand. Look on this website and on www.avvo.com for an attorney in your area.
