Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Standard custody orders
I am the custodial parent, my job is moving me 200 miles from the non custodial parent- he claims the standard papers read that if I move, I must deliver her to his home by 6pm on his weekends as well as pick her up at his home, is that correct? I find the papers confusing but htey are standard for the state of Texas?

Re: Standard custody orders
If you have a standard possession order, there will be provisions stating who is responsible to pick up and drop off the child. It could be either parent depending on how the order was drawn up.
However, the standard possession order also has a different possession schedule if the parents live 100 or more miles distant from one another.
Lastly, you should review the decree to see if there is a geographic restriction that would hinder you from moving so far. Typically a geographic restriction limits the parents to their existing county and those counties immediately adjacent.
