Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Standard Visitation - Thanksgiving Holiday

The school district where the child resides specifies Thanksgiving Holiday as Nov. 22-24 with Nov. 20-21 listed on the calendar as ''Student Holiday''. Standard visitation allows the person who has the child for Thanksgiving to have her from ''the time school is dismissed before the Thanksgiving Holiday until the Sunday after''. The ''Student holidays'' are obviously meant to be part of the Thanksgiving Holiday, however they are not designated as such on the calendar.

Since school is dismissed the Friday before the holiday, is that when the parent would get the child for the holiday?

Re: Standard Visitation - Thanksgiving Holiday

As most decrees state, if your holiday begins when school is dismissed before the holiday, then it is the last day of school, at dismissal time, before the holiday. Assuming the dates are contiguous, then it doesn't matter what the calendar calls them.
