Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
In the state of Texas, what is adult age considered? My 17 year old child lives at home. My child is being pursued by a 30 year old person on the internet - I was told my child is free to choose relationships.....is this correct? Can I file any charges against this person or ????

Although she is a minor for civil purposes, she has reached the age of consent. If talking with your daughter, or counseling, is not helping, discuss with local law enforcement about sending a trespass warning, to at least keep this guy off of your property. You might also consider consulting with an attorney, to see if your situation will qualify tor a restraining order, again, at least against your property. Although it may drive her to rebel, it might scare this guy off.
